Budhanilkantha School announces admission open in class 5 on fee paying basis for the academic year 2010/ 2011 (2066 BS). Admissions are mainly merit based.

Candidates who are eligible to apply could get the Application Forms from the school gate between 12.00 noon and 3.00 pm from 7 February 2010 ( 2066 Magh 24) or download from the school’s website (please click here to download.) The completed form must be submitted to the school office by 17 February 2010 ( 2066 Falgun 5) along with the fee of Rs. 700/- .

The Entrance Examination will be held at Budhanilkantha School at 9:30 am on Saturday, 20 February 2010 ( 2066 Falgun 8).

Scholarship Selection Exam date announced

Paush 30, Magh 3 and Chaitra 23 have been decided as the dates for the Scholarship Selection Test 2066. For the first time in Budhanilkantha history, the selection test will be held at the headquarters of all 75 districts in three phases. A total of 69 districts will be covered in the first week of Magh and 6 mountainous district in the fourth week of Chaitra. The test schedule is as follows:

1. Thursday, Poush 30, 2066: Test will be held at the Headquarters of the following districts:

Darchula, Doti, Baitadi, Achham, Dadeldhura, Jajarkot, Dailekh, Kalikot, Salyan, Rolpa, Gulmi, Arghakhanchi, Palpa, Myagdi, Parbat, Lamjung, Gorkha, Tanahu, Dhadhing, Chitawan, Makawanpur, Nuwakot, Kavrepalanchok, Sindhupalchok, Sindhuli, Solukhumbu, Khotang, Udayapur, Bhojpur, Sankhuwasava, Tehrathum, Illam, Taplejung, Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur

2. Sunday, Magh 3, 2066: Test will be held at the Headquarters of the following districts:

Kanchanpur, Kailali, Bajhang, Bajura, Bardia, Rukum, Banke, Surkhet, Dang, Pyuthan, Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Nawalparasi, Baglung, Kaski, Syangja, Parsa, Bara, Rautahat, Sarlahi, Dhanusha, Rasuwa, Ramechhap, Dolakha, Mahottari, Okhaldhunga, Saptari, Siraha, Dhankuta, Sunsari, Morang, Jhapa and Panchthar

3. Chaitra 23, 2066: Test will be held at the Headquarters of the following districts:

Humla, Mugu, Jumla, Dolpa, Mustang and Manang

A total of 40 students will receive scholarship to study in class 5 at Budhanilkantha School.besides these, a total of 175 students will get scholarship to study as boarders in 7 different schools across the country under the Public-Private-Partnership Programme of the Ministry of Education. Parents Teachers Meeting (HSL) – Invitation to parents and guardians

All the parents and guardians of the Higher Secondary Level (Classes 9, 10, 11, 12 A1 and A2) are invited to the parents-teachers meeting scheduled for December 18, 2009. The meeting starts at 12:30 pm and ends at 3;30 pm. Report card of the Mid-Year Exam 2009 will also be distributed on the same day.

Sports Day 2009 (2066)

December 4, 209 – Sports Day 2009 was celebrated amidst a grand function today. Although the programme was scheduled for 12 noon it started at 1 pm due to strike at Chakrapath. It was graced by Mr. Govinda Chaudhary, the Honourable State Minister, Ministry of Education. Hundreds of parents, guardians and the well wishers of the school witnessed the programme. The march past from the 12 houses were followed by several track events and marvelous demonstrations of karate, gymnastics, shooting, handball and soft ball. The programme ended at 3 pm. Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Hiunchuli, Nilgiri, Gaurishanker and Choyu were crowned as the best marchers of this year where as Makalu, Annapurna, Pumori, Saipal, Gaurishanker and Choyu became the proud winners of Track and Field Meet 2009. Dhaulagiri, Kanchenjunga, Nilgiri, Hiunchuli, Gaurishanker and Choyu were declared the overall sports champions of the academic year 2009 while Ratnachuli House won the prestigious Peace Trophy (the fair play award) of the year.

On the same occasion, Bhanjyang 2009 was also launched by the chief guest of the programme.

Sports Day – Invitation

Budhanilkantha School family cordially invites parents, guardians and all its well wishers to the Annual Sports Day Programme to be held on Friday, December 4, 2009 (Mangshir 19, 2066 BS). The programme starts at 12 noon and is going to be graced by the Honourable State Minister for Education, Mr. Gobinda Chaudhary. Students may go home after the programme.

Track and Field Meet 2009 begins!

One of the most awaited event of this semester the Track and field meet is also amost the School’s major sporting activities. The Opening Ceremony was on Tuesday,17th November 2009. The Programme started with the arrival of the chief guest, Mr. N.P. Sharma the School Principal. The praogramme was then followed by the School Band display and the Lighting of the flame by the defending sports captains of different houses in their respective categories. Then there was the oath taking ceremony by all the houses and the chief guest decleared the meet open. The meet then continued with the marchpast by all the houses and the starting of the events for the day. The opening day consisted of Pentatholon and Triatholon Events for Senior boys and Junior girls. The next day went on with similar events with Senior girls events and Junior Boys.

The Track and Field events will start from Monday i.e. 23rdNovember2009 and the closing ceremony will be held on 4th December 2009 which is the Sports Day.

1st N.K.Memorial Inter College Football Tournament Completed!

The S.T.A.R Club of Budhanilkantha School has successfully organized the 1st N.K. Memorial Inter College Football Tournament 2009 that started from 13th August this year. 16 teams had participated in this tournament. The teams included Shree Budhanilkantha Higher Secondary School, Budhanilkantha School, White House College, Herald International and so on. The tournament was played under league-cum knockout basis. The final match was played between Shree Budhanilkantha Higher Secondary School and Budhanilkantha School. The winner were again Shree Budhanilkantha Higher Secondary School and Budhanilkantha School the runner-ups. The final score was 2-1. Under this competition the best defender award went to 006 Bibek. Similarly, 034 Rohit bagged the Best Player Award. This is one of the Annual Programme organized by the club.

192th Bhanu Jayanti

As every year, the Nepali Department this year too celebrated the 192th Bhanu Jayanti. There was a session of offering flowers on the photos of “Adhi Kabi Bhanu Bhakta” and Laxmi Prashad Devkota. Similarly, there were poem recitations and speeches on the life history of the great writter. The chief guest for the programme was Prof. Dr. Rajaram Subedi (Prof. of Historial studies in T.U.). He was honoured and felicitated by the Principal, Mr. N.P. Sharma and there were speeches by many of the teachers. At the end there was a inspiring and a refreshing speach by the cheif guest and the programme came to an end.

GURU PURNIMA CELEBRATED!

“Guru Purnima Extravaganza 2066″ was celebrated on 7th July, 2009. The programme started with the felicitation programme at 8.45 am and lasted upto lunch time along with the presentations such as the entertainment items including a medley dance from Mr. P.Rai. After lunch, the programme was scheduled for games and included pot breaking, volleyball matches and a football match. Teachers side A comprising of spikers like Mr. M. Karki and Mr. K. P. Koirala won the final match against Teachers Side B (students side were eliminated earlier). The football match was won by Team B who thrashed the other team 5 goals to 2. After the matches were over there was a movie show for the teachers in the assembly hall. The whole programme was a grand success.
